With the rising cost of healthcare and inflation, taking more money out of our pockets, more and more people are looking for different ways to make money online. And they’ve been told that Amazon is one of the best ways to do it. But with so many different ways to make money on Amazon, it’s really hard to dispel fact from fiction.
In this video, I am going to reveal the best ways to make money on Amazon. Based solely on my experience. Hi, my name is Alston Godbolt with alstongodbolt.com. And I’ll get your pen in this video. I am going to answer some of your burning questions. Like, can you really make 100, 200, or even 300 per day with Amazon? Don’t you need a large following in order to make any money on Amazon and which of the methods discussed will actually be the best to make money online.
And don’t worry. I’ll answer these burning questions and more throughout the course of this video. Now, before I answer these initial questions, I’m sure you’re wondering, Alston, do you have proof that people are actually making money online with Amazon? Now, this indeed is a really good question. And I scoured the internet to find proof to show you that yes, it is really possible.
Now, while I didn’t reach out to these three people personally, here’s what I found with regards to them finding success on Amazon. Let’s go ahead and jump right into my computer. And I can show you these three different examples. For example, this woman made over 10 million in revenue on Amazon just last year.
Now, this article was posted by business insider on May 24th of 2023. So just a few months ago, she’s actually making money online with reselling. So she’s finding products at one price, posting them online for a higher price and making money. This person actually is a Reddit poster and they made 24, 000 per month with Amazon affiliate.
Now, this was back in April, 2020, and they actually have a long detailed write up about their journey of going from zero to 20, 000 per month with Amazon, which is pretty exciting. If you think about, and then this third one here, this person is making money in Amazon and a third different way. And as you can see in the top left here, they are making over 20, 000 per month in revenue.
Now we don’t know exactly how much he’s spending on ads or things of that nature, but. Regular everyday people like you and me are in fact making money online with Amazon. Now that we do see that regular people are able to make money online, I’m sure you’re wondering, is it really possible for you to make 100, 200, or even 300 per day?
The short answer is yes, but the long answer really depends on the method that you choose. Back when I first started to try to make money online, I saw lots of videos and content saying that Amazon Mechanical Turk was one of the easiest ways to make money online. After watching these videos, I figured I would jump right in and I would start my 100 per day journey with MTurk simply.
Answering questions. Now, in order to make money on Amazon Mechanical Turk, you have to do micro tasks, like picking objects out of pictures, complete surveys, and really answer basic questions. Now, MTurk is super easy. It’s one of the easiest things I’ve ever done, but in most cases, if it’s easy, it usually doesn’t pay well.
And quite honestly, this was no exception. When you complete a task on MTurk, You’re literally paid pennies. I can recall making anywhere from five cents to 78 cents, depending on the level of tasks that I completed. Now, in reality, to make any money enough for a gallon of gas, you literally would have to spend hours doing these micro tasks and micro jobs in order to quite frankly, make enough to withdraw.
Now that’s perfectly fine. If you’re 20 years old or you’re a college student and you’ve got nothing else going on, you can literally sit there and pick out objects and surveys until your heart’s content. However, if you’ve got a family, you’ve got a full time job, and you’ve got other responsibilities, Mechanical Turk probably isn’t your best bet.
Now, in all the time that I completed Amazon Mechanical Turk, I probably made less than 5. I know that I actually never withdrew any money. On the other hand, we actually have something called affiliate marketing. Now with affiliate marketing, you are simply connecting customers to products with content.
For example, people are jumping on the internet and on YouTube thousands of times per day. And they’re asking questions like best X for Y. For example, they’re asking best microphone for podcasters. They’re asking the best stand mixers for baking bread. People are asking these questions literally thousands of times every single month.
Now, as a content creator, you simply create content answering these questions. The content could be blog posts. They could even be YouTube videos. or even Tik TOK posts. One personal example of me doing this was back a few years ago. I uploaded a video that generated over 250, 000 views on a YouTube account that had less than 2000 subscribers.
Now in this video, I showed people how to install a ring video doorbell without an existing doorbell. And I just put my affiliate link in the description of that YouTube video. And that one video alone has generated. Thousands of affiliate commissions. I’m sure you’re saying to yourself in order to be successful with affiliate marketing, don’t you need millions of subscribers?
And just like with most things, the answer is both yes and no. As I mentioned that video that had over 250, 000 views, I have less than 2000 subscribers today on that YouTube channel. In fact, most of the subscribers that I have on that channel came from that one video. So you don’t necessarily need a lot of subscribers to make money.
However, if you are in a competitive space, let’s say you’re teaching people how to start a podcast. You will need a lot of subscribers in order to start generating revenue with affiliate marketing. But let’s talk about two ways where you don’t need a lot of subscribers in order to make money online with Amazon.
In fact, the first way requires almost no following at all. In this instance, you still upload videos, but where you upload videos is more important than the how. See a few years ago, Amazon started allowing us to upload videos right onto their platform. And if people watch less than a minute of your videos, you have the potential to start earning commissions.
This program is called the Amazon influencer program. And all you need to do is create videos about the products that you already have. Now, the cool thing about this is when you upload these videos, These videos actually show up right next to the product on the product screen, making it easier for someone to discover the video.
And again, if they watch less than a minute, you have the potential to earn a commission. The best part about this program is that you don’t actually have to buy the product from Amazon. You just have to make sure that the product is available for sale on Amazon. So to take advantage of this opportunity, I recommend that you walk around your house, take pictures, do a little bit of research on Amazon.
And see if the product is on Amazon. If the product is on Amazon, just make a short review video, two or three minutes talking about the strengths and the weaknesses of the product. Once you make the video, simply upload it to Amazon. And just like that, you have the potential of earning commissions without a huge following.
Now, the next way that you can make money on Amazon doesn’t require any followers whatsoever. It does require a little bit of money and about nine different steps. You got to complete recently. I saw a lot of people on social media talking about how they’re earning a full time income on Amazon without ever showing their face without being an influencer or without even creating content at all.
And the best part about it is they’re working about 20 minutes per day on their Amazon business. Now, the downside to this side hustle is you need about. 5, 000 to get started. And there’s about nine, not so small steps you need to complete since I love adding revenue stream. So I decided to give this a shot.
Now, this new to me revenue stream is called Amazon FBA. It’s been around a long time and there have been a lot of people that I’ve seen success with this platform. And so here’s a really basic general overview of Amazon FBA. You do a little bit of research and find different products that you want to sell over on Amazon.
Once you find a product you like, and you think you can make money, you start contacting different suppliers on a website called Alibaba. You then get price quotes from different suppliers and order samples that come directly to your house. Once you found a supplier that you really like, you can start negotiating on price even further, and then you can place an initial test order.
And that order is sent directly over to Amazon. It doesn’t come to your house. You don’t have to physically pack anything. And that’s one of the biggest benefits of Amazon FBA. The product goes straight from the supplier in China or India directly over to an Amazon warehouse. The final step in this process is that you create paid ads so that your product can be seen and purchased.
Now, again, this is a vast. overgeneralization of the process of Amazon. But if you wanted a high level view, this is the best that I could do. Now I’ve been selling on Amazon since about October, 2023, and I make about 3, 000 per month with just one product. And yes, I spend about 20 minutes per week on that one product, changing my ads, trying to increase my revenue.
And that’s about it. In my opinion, the key to success with Amazon is finding multiple products and then scaling. After hearing all this, I’m sure you’re wondering what are the best methods to get started with Amazon in 2024. And once again, like all things, it really does depend. But one thing I can tell you for a fact is that Amazon Mechanical Turk is not worth your time at all.
I’m sure I’ll have one person jump in my comments and say I make a million dollars per month with Amazon Mechanical Turk. It absolutely is worth the time. And to be perfectly honest with you, that person is the exception and not normally the rule. As I mentioned, if you have a full time job, you have family obligations and responsibilities, you should pass over Amazon Mechanical Turk.
In fact, if you’re doing Amazon Mechanical Turk, what I recommend that you do is keep track of the amount of money you make per session and the time that it took you to make that money. For example, let’s say that you decide to do Mechanical Turk for one hour and you make 3. Congratulations, you make 3 per hour.
Now, if you have a lot of money sitting around, but not much time, Amazon FBA might be the best solution for you. However, I recommend that you set aside at least 5, 000 to start. Also know that there are no guarantees with this Amazon FBA business, and it might take you a few different products to find one that actually works.
Now, if you have little to no money and little to no time, I recommend that you start Amazon affiliate marketing and the Amazon influencer program. In order to do both, you can start a YouTube channel and cross post the videos that you already post on Amazon influencer also on your YouTube channel. And then you can double dip, just make sure that you take your affiliate link.
Um, Amazon and place it in the description of your YouTube videos. And just like that, you are killing two Amazon birds with just one stone.
