In this video, we are going to be comparing Skool versus mighty networks as someone that has used both and has a membership in a community on both. I’m in the best position to tell you which one is best for you. So what we’re going to take a look at is we’re going to do an overview of both platforms, both communities.

We’re going to compare feature. Features, pricing, pros and cons. And I’m going to make my recommendation. Now, if you are brand new to Skool and you’re looking to get started, go ahead and click the link below to get a 14 day free trial. And when you click that link and you get started using my, my affiliate link, um, you’ll get a free workbook on how to monetize your community.

I’ll actually be able to see. When you signed up, who signed up and I’ll actually be able to send you that email. So if you’re looking for different ways to monetize your community, that workbook will help you out. All right. So as I mentioned, I have both mighty networks as you can see here and Skool, I actually have a number of Skool communities and I can tell you which one’s best.

So let’s just do a quick overview. Quite honestly, there’s not a big difference aesthetically between the two. If you look, they kind of look pretty similar. If we look at this, Mighty Networks, and this is Mighty Networks. It, Mighty Networks is a little bit busier when compared to Skhool. Skhool just has this very basic bare bones platform.

It looks almost like a Facebook group where you have this wall here, where Skhool has a little bit of this stuff on the side and then this stuff up here. The thing that I, I like about Skhool is that you can Send out direct messages to people. You can send out notifications to people, your, your community, every 24 hours, you can do free stuff.

You can do paid stuff. Um, and there’s all sorts of different options. As you can see here, you can do what’s called spaces and collections. That’s basically how you house your different communities. And within each space and collection, you can actually set up the type of tasks and, and, and tabs that you want to have.

The one thing that I don’t like about, about Mighty Networks is that the course material tab where you have your courses, it’s not called course material. It’s called something weird and you got to go in and manually change it or else you’ll, you’ll lose it. Um, like I said here, I have a, both a free community and a paid community.

And it can get a little busy and cumbersome and overwhelming. These are different spaces within a collection. So a collection can be like, um, like a masterclass or a course. And then inside of here you have individual courses. Hopefully that’s not too confusing. But what is kind of confusing is each one of these different spaces Can have chats.

So someone could comment on this seven day unemployed challenge. But then if we go to how to start a website, you can see here that there is, um, a different chat, which can be confusing and overwhelming, especially if you made a master course or masterclass that has a bunch of sub courses in it. So, um, they actually call their, the place where they house their courses table of contents, which can be really confusing.

Um, if you, if you wanted to upload video content, you have to upload it to a third party like Vimeo, which I’m not a huge fan of because that’s an additional expense. But you can see here, this is what a section or, you know, a, um, inside the course would look like. So, you know, you have a course and then you have different video trainings.

That’s what this would look like inside. Okay. So, uh, you can put in links like normal. It is a li it takes a little while to get used to. Um, I will say that there is a little bit of a learning curve, um, in order to figure out how to set up payments because you have to make sure all of these are.

Connected to the collection and then the collection has different payment options The one thing that I do like about this and and this is just supposed to be an overview but one thing I do like about mighty networks is you can have monthly or annual subscriptions, that’s not something that you can have in Skool just yet, but that’s a cool little feature But if we look at this, so that’s a basic overview of what mighty network says You come over to Skool.

It is an all in one platform as well. Okay. This is my free Skool community. And in my opinion, it’s cleaner. The community is where people can post. The one thing that I’m, I don’t like, I don’t think about it is that If you have different sections, for example, this community is about side hustles and making money online.

If people wanted to talk about, I don’t know, starting a side hustle, they kind of have to either scroll down or click on one of these tabs and not everybody does that. So it can, can get kind of confusing and jumbled. Um, the other thing that I’m not a huge fan of is that you can just. Anybody can post once they’re inside the community, they can post here.

And so if people are kind of like spamming their links, it can become kind of a problem. Um, you can have courses inside. As you can see, I have a number of courses to help people get started. Um, kind of like mighty networks, you have to embed the videos from another platform. Um, Skool allows you to embed from Wistia, Vimeo, or YouTube.

And you can see here, you can have links, you can have, um, Uh, different resource materials like this is a pdf and then you also have a calendar now with this calendar. It actually, um, you, you put the calendar and so these are all different zoom links, but you can’t natively have a live video training inside of the community.

You can see your members. You can do what’s called gamification, and that’s what this leaderboard is all about. So as people get more credits and more points, they can move up to these different levels and with the different levels, they unlock different things. For me, I have different courses, as you can see, email marketing, one on one.

Social media mastery or strategy workshop, digital product idea, ideolation webinar. And so people can earn points by getting likes on their comments or on their post. And so that actually will help keep up the community engagement, which is something that is, can be kind of challenging. If you’ve run a group before, if you’ve done a Facebook group and you can’t get people to engage, um, gamification is a great way.

Okay. And then here, um, uh, the about page is kind of like the landing page, which is good and bad. The landing page only allows like a thousand characters. So you’ve got to be succinct with whatever it is that you’re communicating to your target audience. With mighty networks, you can build out a complete landing page.

Um, you can’t collect emails, but you can talk about your product or service, how you’re helping people, which is kind of nice. Um, it takes a little bit of a learning curve to get used to, but. It does a decent job. Um, I would say in general, Skool’s probably much easier to use. There aren’t as many features and functionalities just yet.

It’s still a relatively new platform. And so there are things that are hopefully on the way. Okay. Maybe, um, but one other thing with, with, um, Skool is that you can send messages out to your, your people that are in your community, but you can only do it once every three days. With Mighty Networks, you can do it once every 24 hours.

And you’ll send a notification an email out so that they can come back to the platform. All right So that is a brief in depth overview of both mighty networks in Skool Let’s jump back over here to um, so what is Skool? What is mighty networks? They’re both online course platforms that people can use As both a community and a place to promote and sell they have free versions.

They have paid versions. It’s really Applicable to anybody that wants to start an online business Or anybody that has a community if you’ve got a social media following You can use either one of these platforms to build a community where you can provide more information, make money online and so on.

So let’s talk about the features, uh, community building and engagement. As you can see here, if we go back over to mighty networks, the one thing, like I said, is it’s, it’s not all in one place. So if I want to chat with somebody, I’ve got to go to the individual course and then, um, chat with them. Okay. I can’t, there’s no overall chat.

If someone just has a general question, they either will send you a direct message, which can be cumbersome if you start getting a lot of people. Um, and it can be difficult to keep up with because if you have a lot of course material like I do, You can see that this becomes kind of a problem to, to manage, uh, Skool on the other hand, as I mentioned, everything is in one place.

Uh, you can actually sort by newest post. Um, the other cool thing is, is that you can pin, as you can see here, I’ve got a couple of these different, uh, posts pinned. And so this is the first thing that they’re going to see much like a Facebook group. There is not that option. Um, I believe you can do polls, but I think in my opinion, uh, Skool is very clean.

It’s very simple looking for the time being over time. I think they’re going to do different things to drive more traffic, maybe have ads and things like that, but that’s a different story for a different day. But you can see it has a very simple and clean look. Um, I also. And this is not really community building or engagement, but one of the interesting things with Skool is that your Skool can rank on Google for different content.

So for example, if your Skool community is all about side hustles and you’re either uploading YouTube videos or making blog posts where you are targeting side hustles, it’s very possible that the authority, the domain authority, Of Skool can actually result in ranking on the first page of Google, which could help bring more traffic to the platform.

Uh, not something that I saw was possible inside of mighty networks. Okay. So consider that, think about that when you are getting up and running. Uh, the cool thing too, is I can see how many people are online right now. So nine people are online. I can make a quick post and reach out to those people and communicate to them.

Cause I see nine people are online. Uh, Both of them have a smartphone application. with push notifications that you can enable or disable, um, as you desire. Course creation, let’s take a look at that. Um, as I mentioned a little bit earlier, the one thing that I don’t like for both of these programs, or platforms, is that you can’t natively upload a video.

Okay. When you do video, it has to be uploaded somewhere else. And then you have to put on, put in a link. So I think that’s just a drawback, you know, Facebook, you can upload natively. Um, some of the other places you can upload natively as well. Um, but you know, if you can’t upload natively, It may cost, it may incur more money, um, but building out a class is in my opinion, really simple.

Within each course, you can have multiple sections. So under affiliate marketing, if I wanted to have an affiliate marketing 101 and then 201 and then 301, I just need to go to affiliate marketing starters and then add a, um, module. And just like that, I have a new, oh, excuse me. I need to add in a new set.

Excuse me. Um, you can see here, this is the set. And then like the new set is a section. So you can have multiple sections and then inside of each set are the individual courses. So, um, really simple, really easy to do basically the same thing on mighty networks. Um, you need to create what’s called a collection.

And then inside of the collection you can have different spaces and these are all considered spaces. And then you have the feed here. So if people had a question, again, I think it’s just, I think that the best use case for Mighty Networks is if maybe you have one course, it’s a core course and everything flows together.

You can have one feed, you can have one section for course material. Uh, you can put multiple videos inside of one of these, but in my opinion, and then of course you have a chat, um, if you have one or two courses that at most, or maybe you have a, like a free and a premium. I think that’s going to be a great option.

I think my networks would be a great option. I also like that you can customize it a lot. Um, there’s, there’s not as much customization here under a Skool. You can obviously change your, um, little logo here. You can change your name. Um, but I think the, the customization kind of stops there anyway. Uh, course creation and management.

Just con, con concluded, um, customization and branding, as I mentioned, you have a little bit more flexibility inside of Mighty Networks in my opinion. You can change your logo, as I mentioned. Um, you can, you can just, you can do a little bit more. Um, you can actually have a custom domain. See if I can bring mine up.

It won’t let me bring mine up because I’m logged in. But you can have a custom domain. Not something that you can do over on Skool. So you get a little bit more customization and branding. Uh, monetization options. One of the good things about Skool is that there are a variety of ways to monetize. Right now, Skool has an affiliate program where you would earn 40 percent reoccurring commissions.

So let’s say you got started with Skool or you became an affiliate for Skool and you recommended other people to start Skool. Uh, each Skool community is 99. And so if you got someone to create a Skool community and they got off of the free plan, you would get 40 percent reoccurring for life. On that 99 that’s just one way you can monetize with a paid course Another thing that you can do is you can collect payments for Um, you can collect payments, uh off platform for Skool and then you can send them to individual courses within Skool Um, I haven’t figured out a way to do that within the Skool platform yet I noticed that, for example, let’s say you have ClickFunnels or GoHighLevel.

You can collect payment in GoHighLevel or ClickFunnels for a course. And then once they buy, you can activate that course, which can be kind of interesting. Um, Mighty Networks doesn’t have an affiliate program at this time. Obviously you can do free courses or paid courses. Um, and that’s probably about the extent of, of the, um, opportunity.

Okay. Uh, user experience and interface. Personally, and this is just personal opinion, uh, Skools a little bit cleaner and I like the cleanliness of it cause it’s more user friendly. Like I mentioned here, someone could get lost in, in each section. As you can see here under paid traffic strategies, we’ve got the feed here.

We’ve got the table of contents, which is really the actual course material under here. You can see, I don’t have it, but you could actually have a bunch of different videos. So I could just click on edit. And then I hit enter and I could create a new video or upload a new video or text or whatever it might be.

I think, um, I think Skool’s simplicity is a real benefit and bonus. It took me a long time to set up this mighty network and I got frustrated multiple times trying to do it just because there’s certain activations and process that you have to go through in order to sign up for or create a paid community.

Um, it was just kind of like annoying and frustrating. Okay. So personal experience. I I like the, um, I like the simplicity of, of Skool. Now, what’s most important pricing. As you can see here, Mighty Networks starts off at 99 per month. It does have limited features. As you can see here, um, when you upgrade to the 179 per month, you get all of these different things.

Okay. Uh, this is the annual plan. If you look at the monthly plan, it actually goes up to 119 and 219. But again, you can create, I believe, an unlimited number of courses. Some of this stuff they actually, um, just did recently, like this native live streaming wasn’t, wasn’t available before. Um, the convert kit integration wasn’t available before.

So a lot of this stuff is new. Um, I wasn’t privy to some of this stuff cause I was on grandfathered in and an older plan. But you get two terabytes of storage. Um, you can all, it looks like you, you do get a pretty good amount of stuff and they’re adding features. Like I said, the one drawback is they don’t have an affiliate program.

So, um, if you wanted to let people know how great of a community it is, you won’t get credit for it. Skool on the other hand is 99 per month per Skool community. So right now I have a free community and a paid community. I am paying 99 per month for each one of those communities. That is much, much more expensive, uh, for the features that you’re getting.

But you understand because it’s a new, it’s a new, um, software and they need to find a way to start breaking even.

But to get started with Skool, 99 per month per community, you get a 14 day free trial. Like I mentioned, it’s linked down below. So let’s talk about the pros and cons. I’ve interweaved some pros and cons throughout this entire video, but pros and cons of starting a Skool community. Um, one of the biggest cons is going to be the money.

99 per month per community can be. a bit to chew off. Um, another con I would say is you don’t get to, you don’t have the option to upload videos directly into the platform. You’ve got to use a third party. As I’ve mentioned, a couple of pros, you can rank your Skool community and individual posts within, you

can rank your community and posts right in Google. So let’s say you have a post that ranks in Google that can help you. Bring more traffic to your, uh, to your community, help you make more money. Um, another thing that I like is that you can actually search right here. If, if someone has a question, you can search by keyword, uh, not something that, well, you, I guess you can do that now.

So if we just typed in ad. Um, you can see that that is there. Um, another thing that I like is the cleanliness. It’s just simple. It’s basic There’s not a lot of stuff going on it’s Um, it would be easier for someone to adapt to if they’re coming from facebook. Okay Um, there’s less overwhelm. I also like the fact that you could discover other communities for example If I go discover communities There’s a ranking system.

So if someone wanted to learn about, let’s say like dog training, dog training, you can actually rank for different keywords, which could help you get discovered. You can see here that this person’s only charging 12 per month. And this is in, I don’t know, a different language I was going to guess, but no need, but you can see here, um, 324 members, these posts, these communities are ranking, which is really cool.

And it’s something that You know, you create content and the way that you rank is you, you have to get engagement. You’ve got to get people communicating and talking to each other, talking back and forth. And then you can see here that, um, uh, another thing that I like about Skool right now is that it is, it’s still, I think a blue ocean.

So if you wanted to just get up and running with a niche, uh, you could do like basket weaving or maybe woodworking. That’s a popular niche. You can see that there aren’t as many people out here to compete against, especially if you’re trying to compete against, um, with like a Facebook group. If you were trying to start a Facebook group, um, it would be nearly impossible to start ranking, but you can see there isn’t as many options.

Let’s talk about the pros and cons of mighty networks. To me, I think it feels busy. Okay. Um, it takes a lot to get up and running. Uh, you will be jumping back and forth on YouTube videos trying to find your answers. Um, it’s, uh, I don’t, as I mentioned, I don’t like. That you’ve got to upload your videos to Wistia or YouTube or Vimeo and then basically just link them here.

That’s not something I’m a huge fan of. Also one weird thing is let’s say you go to uh, this right here. It doesn’t open up all the way. It opens up partially and so you got to do that. It’s a minor thing. It’s just a weird thing that I ran into but you can see here. Um, I also not huge fan of the price while it’s less expensive.

If you have multiple courses, it’s less expensive. You’re going to have more features and functionality right now because this platform is a little bit older than Skool. And so it’s just further ahead and it’s, and it’s growth. Um, you cannot rank your blog posts. In fact, there really isn’t a space for blog posts, but you can’t rank your content in mighty networks on social media or on YouTube.

We’re on Google, so consider that. As I mentioned, I’m not a huge fan of the, the chats everywhere. I think overall Mighty Networks is a good platform. It’s a very good platform. It’s just, it takes a little while getting used to. If I had time, I would show you the entire process of trying to create a paid product.

Um, let me see if we go here to network. It’s under network settings. And then you got to go to, I think it’s, Under premium features, which I don’t have access to, but you know, you kind of have to jump through this, these hoops in order to create something. Payments and plans. You got to connect all of these.

You can see hopefully it loads, but you can see that I’ve got all these different bundles to try and make it work. And it, it was a little while. It took a little bit to get used to and get set up and figure it out. Um, Skool on the other hand, real simple. You just come up here, Click on create a community, enter the name, you’ll enter in your card, two week free trial, you get the iOS app, you get all that stuff, and you can have your community up and running with like, within ten minutes.

So, ultimately I think Skool is gonna be the, the model of the future, just because you can rank your blog post, you can borrow the domain authority of Skool to rank on Google. Um, I also like it right now, like I said, because it’s a blue ocean, there aren’t as many people on it right now. So you can rank and grow and build and potentially get shown in the first couple pages of the search results.

So if someone were searching for Make money online. You could potentially show up for that. So that’s my personal recommendation. I think both are good Platforms, I would just give the slight edge to Skool because of the different Smaller options that you have now if you’re budget conscious And you have a bunch of courses that you want to launch both a free course and a paid course Um, I think money networks might be the way to go if you’re looking to get up and running quickly Skool is the way to go.

You can spin up a new Skool within, like I said, 15 minutes and you’ll be on your way. Guys, I hope you got value out of this video. I hope you enjoyed it. Please let me know if you have any questions. Have a great day
