There’s so much crap on the internet. This crap is taking time and money away from you. It’s taking time and money that you most likely don’t have. So I’ve decided to start a brand new series called, will it work? Within this brand new series, we are going to take a look at popular TikTok and YouTube videos.
In this first video, we’re going to take a look at a video that claims that we can make 122. In my video, we’re going to take a look at the process, some potential red flags, and. Will it work as someone that’s been successful online? I think it’s important for someone to sift through the crap that’s out there I want to sift through the crap so that I can provide you facts and get away from the fiction So in this first episode of will it work?
We’re going to take a look at a video that claims that we can make 122 dollars per day With TikTok and affiliate marketing. Hi, my name’s Alston Godbolt with alstongodbolt.com. I create content to actually help you make money online and not just to put money into my own pocket. And if you want to be added to the globe, comment down below with your city, state, zip code, province, or country.
Now this video will be composed of three sections. Part 1 will be an overview of what the original content creator says. Part 2 will be my red flags. And part 3 will be will it work, how long I’ll try it, and how I’ll know if it works or not. Now before we get into this video, I’m sure you’re wondering what qualifies you to be a creator.
Constitute or tell someone if this video will work enough. And to be honest with you, I think this is a great question. You should be skeptical of anything that you see here or read on the internet. And I’m no exception. So what qualifies me to do this type of work? I’ve been a affiliate marketer, digital entrepreneur, marketer, whatever you want to call it for the last nine years.
And my first niche was not in telling people how to make money online. Like 90 percent of the people that you see here on YouTube or over on TikTok. I actually earned my first 130 in affiliate commissions with the Blue Host Affiliate Program. My second, or I guess third, affiliate commission was 67 cents with Amazon promoting a doorbell security camera.
My oldest YouTube channel is called The Security Camera Guy and it has just under 2, 000 subscribers. However, about half the videos on that channel generate over 5, 000 views. My most viewed video on that channel has over 250, 000 views at this point. So what does this all mean for you? But honestly, it means that I am a successful affiliate internet marketer, and I’m not just some Johnny come lately.
I’ve been around the block multiple times. I know it works. And most importantly, I know it doesn’t work. So without further ado, let’s go ahead and jump into part one and review what the original content. Creator says we should do now. The original video claims that we can make money with TikTok affiliate marketing and the woodworking niche.
Basically, what he recommends we do is go out and find woodworking videos from other platforms and post them on TikTok. We’re going to find videos on platforms like Pinterest, Facebook, and even Instagram. And to monetize this, we are going to join the affiliate network click bank, and we are going to make money with the Ted’s woodworking affiliate program.
Ted’s woodworking pays about 61. Per sale or per commission and we need just two sales per day in order to make that 122 That the original content creator claims that we can make he states that this will work Simply because there are a lot of people on social media that are interested in woodworking It’s a hot trending topic and hot trending topics can make us money.
He says for this to work, we have to consistently upload every single day, multiple times per day, at least two uploads. Now that we have a very brief understanding of part one and what we are supposed to do, let’s go ahead and jump into part two and talk about some of my concerns with this process.
Before we talk about my concerns, let’s take a look back in time just a little bit. Let’s take a look back on YouTube when people would say the words creative commons and money would just fall. Out of the sky. You see the game of stealing content, which more on that later is nothing new. It’s been around for a long, long time.
Years ago, back before TikTok, the game was to go over to YouTube and search within your niche. If your niche was make money online, you’d type in make money online in the search bar. Then you would go and sort videos by creative commons. Now, creative commons were free to use videos where you could pull them down and you could do whatever you wanted to with them and re upload them.
If you search right now, how to make money online with. Creative Commons, you’ll probably see about 10, 000 different videos. Hell, you probably will even find a video of mine on there. Anyway, this is nothing new and it’s actually really hard to monetize off of the backs of someone else’s hard work. All right.
So let’s go ahead and fast forward to today. My first concern is that you’re not actually building anything real. You’re simply just trying to make money off of someone else’s hard work. And quite honestly. The original content creator, and I kind of find this funny, the original content creator is creating original content telling you to steal someone else’s work to make money.
Isn’t that weird to you? The original content creator has built a brand, showing his face, showing up every single day, while telling you to go steal someone else’s content. Isn’t that strange? This guy is literally showing up every single day on camera in multiple places, but he’s telling you Not to do the same thing.
Here’s a rule of thumb that I usually go by. Always do what the gurus are doing and not telling you what to do. Concern number two, you’re just stealing content and you think your audience is dumb, but honestly, I think that every business should be built off of morals, values, and ethics. Because quite honestly, how you build your business will be the same way that you lose it.
So let’s say you decide to go down this path of just stealing content. And one day you steal content from the wrong content creator. This content creator is petty and vindictive. This person finds that they are using your content and they decide to sue you. What do you think happens then? Do you think you could go to court and say, Well, some guy on TikTok told me I could do it, and it’s A OK?
Or Do you think you’d be held viable and have to pay for dealing someone else’s content? More importantly, let’s see what TikTok actually says about this. According to TikTok, can you post another person’s copyrighted content on TikTok without their permission? Our terms of service and community guidelines do not allow posting, sharing, or sending any content that violates or infringes upon another party’s copyrights, trademarks, or their intellectual property rights.
This includes the use of another person’s copyrighted content without proper authorization or legally valid reason. Under certain circumstances, you may be legally permitted to use another person’s copyrighted content without their permission. This includes fair use and exceptions to copyrights such as quotation criticism and or review of the copyrighted content.
So the only way You could use someone else’s content without any legal trouble at all would be under the fair use doctrine. And according to the original content creator, we’re just downloading and re uploading. So when you decide to build a business stealing other people’s content, there’s a very strong chance that you’re running the risk of your business disappearing overnight.
In addition, a petty business owner might sue you for any earnings that you’ve earned. They might take a look at that link that you’ve got posted and assume that you’re making money. And so they can sue you for all of that money as well. Think about that before you decide to just jump in. Red flag number three.
We’re just going to disregard the rules of TikTok. And one of the rules of TikTok is that you must have 1, 000 subscribers in order to add a live link. Now, you could place a link in your bio, but it wouldn’t be active. It would just be a static link and people can’t click on a static link. Question. What do you think the conversion rate on a link that can’t be clicked is?
So let me put this another way: Someone sees your content. They stop what they’re doing. They swipe over to your bio. They see the text. They write down the text, close the TikTok app, and then open their web browser. And they manually type it in. What are the chances of someone doing that? A lot of people do that consistently every single day.
Your percentage or chance of that happening are really, really low. Red flag number four. You are sending people directly to an affiliate offer. Do you remember the old 80 20 rule? Everything on earth is 80 percent 20. And this is actually no exception. 80 percent of your buyers will not buy right away.
According to a book called oversubscribed, people need to see you 11 times. Or seven hours or more before they feel comfortable enough to buy from you. In addition, only about 3 percent of your followers over on TikTok. Actually see your content and that 3 percent changes every time you upload. So let’s recap.
Here’s what you have to do in order to make 122 per day. Get someone to watch your video and swipe left to your bio. Then you’ve got to get those people to correctly write down your bitly URL and then close TikTok, open up their web browser, correctly type in the bitly URL. Then they see your sales page and say, yep.
This is for me. And they make a purchase in a good sales funnel with email marketing included. The average conversion rates like 5 percent from audience member to purchaser or buyer. This means that just 5 percent of the people that consume your content at the top of your funnel will make it all the way through down to the bottom of the funnel and buy whatever it is that you’re selling.
With this funnel, the conversion is probably like 0. 5%, probably less, but. We’ll give it some grace. So basically what that means is you need thousands, probably tens of thousands of viewers every single day to make 122. Now all of this number crunching leads me to part three. Do I think this will work? Now earlier I talked about the creative commons craze from a few years ago.
And what wound up happening is that everyone was re uploading the exact same videos from the exact same people over and over and over again. And when this happened, A couple things happened. The original content creator, so the person that uploaded the original video, his following actually grew. He got more following, more subscribers.
And eventually, the copycats stopped uploading videos because they weren’t getting any views. The reason why they weren’t getting any views is because they weren’t transforming the videos at all. They were literally just grabbing it from the internet, pulling it down, And putting it right back up.
YouTube, TikTok, they don’t want reused or duplicated content. They want unique content. Because unique content is what keeps viewers on the platform. And then eventually, the people that were trying to take advantage of this Creative Commons loophole, they eventually stopped because it wasn’t making them any money.
And I think we’ll see the same thing happen with the I think what we’ll see as the same videos get uploaded again and again and again, the audience will start looking for the original content creators, and the following for those original content creators will grow. Let me give you a real quick example.
There’s a podcast of two British guys on TikTok. People are grabbing those videos and re uploading them. Eventually, the audience wants unique content, original content, and they’re going back to their YouTube channel where they can find the podcast. Those guys have millions of followers simply because People have been re uploading their content and the same thing is going to happen here.
And I think eventually the people that are re uploading these videos are going to stop getting views. And I think this method will fall flat. I’m sure there will be somebody in the comment section that says, I’m doing this right now. It works for me. I’m making a zillion dollars. Now, most likely you are the exception and not the rule for every video that you see that is a copycat of a popular video.
There are hundreds, if not thousands of videos that you don’t see that are getting low to no views. So I say all of this to say, I’m going to try this for about 30 days where I upload two tick tock videos per day for those 30 days, looking for signs of success. I’ll be looking for more followers. I’ll be looking for more viewers and I’ll be looking for more engagement, which shows that a tick tock account is live and healthy.
The TikTok I’m going to use for the next 30 days currently has 103 followers. So if I’m up to 2000 followers in the next 30 days, we’ll know that it’s because of this method. So what I want you to do right now is comment your thoughts. Do you think this will work? Uh, do you think there is space for just downloading and uploading?
What do you think about the legal, ethical, and moral parameters associated with stealing other people’s content? Now that you know about this new series, I’m sure you have questions about affiliate marketing. Watch this video next as I go over affiliate marketing with you step by step
